The Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, adopted by the seventh Meeting of States Parties on 23 May 1997, was deposited with the Secretary General of the United Nations and opened for signature at United Nations Headquarters for 24 months, as from 1 July 1997.3 The Agreement entered into force on 30 December 2001, 30 days after the date of deposit of the tenth instrument of ratification or accession.
